How to play

Wolves are hiding in the flock.
Find them before they thin it out.

The goal

Hidden among you are Wolves, and they look just like everyone else. Sheep, sniff them out. Wolves, blend in and strike at night. Trust nobody. Lie freely.

Sheep

Win when every Wolf is out.

Wolves

Win as soon as Wolves equal or outnumber the Sheep.

Your role

Most players are Sheep. A few are secret Wolves who know each other.

5–7 players
1 Wolf
8–17 players
2 Wolves
18–20 players
3 Wolves

The host can change the number of Wolves.

Each round

No timers. The host decides when each section ends and moves the game on.

  1. 1

    Day

Two steps. First, talk it out with Round Table or Hot Seat: accuse, defend and watch each other. Then play the Imposter Game for another chance to spot who is bluffing. If it cannot run, play another conversation game instead.

  2. 2

    Vote

Everyone alive votes secretly for one other player at the same time. The host reveals the votes one at a time; each voter gives a one-sentence reason. The player with the most votes is cast out and their role is revealed.

A tie? Re-vote between the tied players only. A second tie is decided at random.

  3. 3

    Night

Only Wolves get orders. Nights alternate between a vote and a task. Sheep mingle and watch who interacts with whom.

  4. 4

    Morning

The victim, if there is one, is revealed. Night victims are always Sheep. Think back: who interacted with them last night?

After dark

Task night

A Wolf gets one simple task to do to another player in plain sight. Do it, tap Done, then pick the player you did it to. That player is the night’s victim. Tasks are never combined. Sheep get no tasks.

They said no, or you couldn’t do it? Tap Failed / no one. No successful pick means nobody dies.

Vote night

Each Wolf picks a player and locks in. A kill only happens if every living Wolf locks in the same player. Otherwise nobody dies. Wolves cannot kill each other.

If the host ends the night before the Wolves complete a task or agree on a pick, nobody dies.

Imposter Game

Hold to see your secret word. When your turn comes, say one word as a clue without saying your word. The app picks who starts; play goes clockwise.

Wolves get a different but similar word. A Sheep may also get that word as a decoy, so a clue that doesn’t quite fit is a red flag — not proof.

Then talk it out until the host ends it. The app confirms nothing. Use what you heard to decide your vote. All words and the decoy are revealed at game over.

It can run more than once, never with the same word pair.

The Guardian: each night one random Sheep secretly becomes the Guardian. Their night pick is shielded — if the Wolves choose that player, no one dies.

Out, but not gone

If you’re cast out or killed, you become a Ghost. You can’t vote and must not talk to the living about the game. Use the Ghost chat and make your predictions.

During a Group Mission, Ghosts can flag up to 2 living players who acted suspiciously. The group is told who was flagged most, but not who flagged them. A cast-out Wolf cannot flag.

Fair play

  • Keep your screen to yourself. Don’t read your role aloud or screenshot it.
  • Everyone may lie. Sheep included. Wolves especially.
  • Wolves must really do the task, in plain sight. Tapping Done without doing it is cheating.
  • Anyone can say no to a task. Nobody has to eat or drink anything, and nobody should do anything unsafe.
  • Don’t wander off mid-round without telling the host.
